The truth is that the grandest sight to see is not the material things that we receive every Christmas. We should also think of others. We have to hope that time would heal all hearts. We should pray that this season, someone would have a friend, a real friend. Realizing the fact this world is torn apart, we should aim a love that would never end. Let us not fill our own Christmas list but we should also help others fulfill their own dreams and prayers."

Title of Film: Christmas in Guimbalanons: Their Celebrations and Perspectives
School: Guimbal NHS
Team Leader: Bonifacio E. Garvilles
Team Members: Julie Ann T. Genzola, Jan Oliver G. Genine, Anne Catherine C. Gierza, Syramae G. Albios

Team's Message:
"This short film is about the different perspectives of Guimbalanons of what are Christmas and their way of celebrating it. This film conveys that Christmas is not only meant for the gifts, parties and foods, but the true essence of it is the sharing of love between the members of family and the happiness being felt by everyone during this season. Christmas for them is the season of love, sharing, happiness and celebration together with the jubilation of the birth of Christ. The Guimbalanonsʼ ways of celebration are the same on the typical Filipino culture. On Christmas day, there is the common noche buena shared by the family members. But because of the economic crisis the Philippines is suffering right now, the most important thing is that the family members are together on Christmas. Even though there are just simple foods on the table, it is necessary that the family have something to share in the yuletide season. Thus, Christmas for Guimbalanons is the season of love and bonding coupled with the true essence of it."

It is more on our good relationships towards our family, friends, classmates, and teachers. Peace is what we cannot let to vanish for it reveals and magnify more the true spirit of Christmas. We should learn to give pardon our foe and ask not their sorry but the peace between you. Deep within, the season brings harmony and joy to those who humble themselves before God. Moreover, we Filipino had a great family bonding on Christmas that even strengthen our relationships. We always abide with our faith and as Christians we know that our Lord and Savior was born in a manger who humble Himself before anyone else to set as an example to everyone. No other traditions in the world can proclaim our humble way Filipino celebrate the the season. Indeed, we are one of a kind nation celebrating the longest Christmas ever."

Team Leader: Bonifacio E. Garvilles
Team Members: Anna Lee Gayanilo, Rhona Lynn Gello-ani, John Christian Teves, Meg Bryan Gicana

Team's Message:
"The Disyembre Sa Guimbal is a two-week long pompous and extravagant celebration of Christmas usually starting on the third week of December until New Year. It is a tradition which has been celebrated for twenty-seven years. It is now synonymous to a merry, colorful, large-scale and elaborated rejoicing of the yuletide season. Grandiose presentations and innovations such as lantern parades, drum corps exhibitions, beauty pageants, talent shows, musical and cultural presentations, food festivals and other creative merriment have made the festivity the most colorful in town. The idea of providing entertainment for the people waiting for the midnight mass was conceived by former Congressman Oscar G. Garin, Sr. This series of cultural events was first celebrated by the Guimbalanons on December 24, 1975. It has given Guimbalanons a medium to express joy and gratitude for the birth of the Son of God. It has gained popular support from all sectors ( DepEd Elementary, DepEd Secondary, LGU, NGA-NGO, Private Sectors and other sectors in Guimbal) in the municipality that made it a successful annual celebration. Team Leader: Dixi Dawn Apigo
Team Members: Marlene Odangga, Janice Morareng, Heirnce Fayofay, Vernice Cuteng

Team's Message:
"Our video features two annual events held only during Christmas time. We do this through a virtual stroll of Bontoc where the two activities are held. The lantern-making contest is an anticipated competition for the youth when the Yuletide season approaches. It’s an avenue for them to show their creativity and receive cash gifts from sponsoring agencies or groups. It’s also a good way to recycle things and use indigenous materials. For teens and adults, the Department of Tourism and Industry Trade Fair is something they look forward to. Craftsmen and entrepreneurs all over the province are invited to display their wares. If buyers are impressed, the entrepreneurs became suppliers and thus, earn more income. For both young and old shoppers, it’s a way to spend time with friends – appreciation of native products is developed while strolling and milling around the different booths and stalls."

Team Members: Marianne Dawn Ginete, Toni Angelie Caprecho, Ma. Betina Rebullida, Ria Angeli Gran

Team's Message:
"Christmas is always best celebrated with the entire family. Yet, there are occurences that work or responsibility becomes a higher priority than spending Christmas together as a family. Nowadays, people have become too busy that they have forgotten the true essence of celebrating this occassion. It is natural for Filipinos to find another way of celebrating things whenever hindrances are present. We can always think of better ways to celebrate Christmas -- to share what you have to people who needs attention and love during this season. Sharing is loving, and it feels great all the time when you make someone happy."

Team Leader: Bernalyn Ambrosio
Team Members: Lorelie Lomyog, Grethel Quinones, Cyrel Payaya Tangoyab

Team's Message:
"We say christmas when there are brightly sparkling decorations, huge decorated trees, stylish wrapped gifts and mouth-watering foods. it is a very memorable occassion for each and every human being. and we filipinos are very indifferent from others in a some other way of celebrating this season. Not different in the way of celebrating but in how filipinos look and appreciate the true meaning of Christmas. It doesn't need to show expensive items to feel the spirit of Christmas but we come in knowing that being with your love ones more valued. Getting together makes the highlight with love and sharing as its theme."

Team Members: Mary France L. Morales, Danica L. Brazal, Mecyl Darilay, Allan James Cano

Team's Message:

Team Members:
Kerstein Kylle P. Despi, Lauren V. Gran, Jenny I. Pacaldo

Team's Message:
"Christmas is not about giving valuable things without love instead giving priceless love to the people in need. Most wealthy people are very blessed but are not willing to give to the poor. They may give bundles of joy but this did not come from their hearts. So in this film we want to open the hearts of the people to give love and share their blessings that God gave them, not just during this Christmas season, but all year round."
